Digital and data services company ARQ Group, has acquired technology consultancy Diaxion in a move it says bolsters its advisory, government digital strategy and transformation capabilities.

Publicly-listed data infrastructure and network services provider 5G Networks will become the new owner of the Webcentral Group, after outbidding the Florida-based Web.com which had made an offer of $12.2 million, and having its counter offer cleared to proceed.

The Webcentral Group, the firm once known as Melbourne IT and later as the Arq Group, has entered into a deal for its Web hosting assets to be acquired by the Florida-based Web.com for a sum of $12.2 million.

Well-known domain name vemdor Melbourne IT has received assent from shareholders at its annual general meeting to change the company's name to the Arq Group.

Melbourne IT, one of the country's best-known domain vendors, will be rebranding itself as the Arq Group to reflect its diversion into other IT sectors, accompanying which will be an increase in staff numbers by 270.
